I didn’t pick up the phone but I keep getting fake calls saying they’re from Amazon, so I guess this was another one of those. I was actually trying to find a number from an earlier call I got about some loft insulation checks from an unknown firm. That one seemed like the kind of call you get from a call centre in India or somewhere similar! But using 1471 just shows me the last number, not any previous ones!

The moment I answered, a recorded voice claimed to be British Telecom (I don’t even use BT services, but I stayed on just to see what scam was going around). The message said there was "suspicious and possibly illegal activity on my line"! Then I got put through to a woman saying she was from Amazon, telling me that my payment for Amazon Prime, which costs £7.99 monthly, had been declined. She then asked for my bank info and said I owed £79.99 to restore my Prime account. I ended up hanging up straight away.
