I just received a call, much like the previous ones. A woman claimed to be from Microsoft, but she seemed a bit flustered when we pressed her on why our Microsoft security didn’t catch those nasty files we were told we’d downloaded! The moment we inquired about the company she represented, she abruptly hung up. Absolutely infuriating!

Absolutely spot on, it was indeed Alex Allbridge. That’s the chap we had a conversation with.

I recently received a call from a gentleman with a foreign accent claiming that there were documents linked to our computer and the Windows database. When we questioned them, they gave us the number 01865522108 for verification. Out of sheer curiosity, we called it back, and a man with a less pronounced accent answered, introducing himself as from Windows Live Help. We couldn’t shake off our suspicions, so we decided to hang up.

On the afternoon of Friday, the 25th of February, we received a phone call from individuals claiming to represent Microsoft, requesting £70 to resolve issues with our computer. Foolishly, I fell for the scam and ended up paying them. I've already reported this to the police, who are now investigating this fraudulent scheme. Please be cautious!

I received a call from someone with a pronounced foreign accent claiming to be from the WINDOWS SUPPORT GROUP. They were rather keen on accessing our computer to help us steer clear of harmful emails. Quite frankly, I found it all a bit dodgy, so I asked for their callback number, which they provided as 01865522108, by the name of MAC WILSON. It’s evident this is a scam, so I’d suggest giving it a wide berth!

I recently received a call from something labelled as WINDOWS SUPPORT GROUP, urging me to power up my computer and press a series of buttons. When they asked me to verify my identity, the voice on the line, sounding distinctly foreign, introduced themselves as MAC WILSON. They quickly mentioned they'd call back since they were occupied at the moment. Curious about the number, I did some digging and stumbled upon this site filled with similar accounts. 17 February 2011.

Hi there! Have you ever thought about whether the files you downloaded led to any additional issues or if they’ve compromised your personal information? Or is it just the £70 these folks are after?

I've been receiving calls from this number, 01865522108, claiming to be from Microsoft, and the person on the line has a very thick foreign accent. It's clearly just a dodgy scam, so I wouldn't hesitate to hang up immediately. Just a reminder that Microsoft will never call you seeking any personal information or details. Best to ignore these sorts of calls!

It has just dawned on us that we've fallen victim to a scam as well. What should our next steps be? How much information do these individuals possess about us?

Hello there, I've just had a bit of a search regarding the number 01865522108 after being contacted by a chap named Steve Marks claiming to be from the Windows Service team. It appears that these individuals are still trying to scam unsuspecting people. Why can’t BT or similar services put a stop to this kind of nonsense? It's rather disheartening to think that such tactics are being used against folks in the comfort of their own homes. Date noted: 21st July 2011 at 15:27. Regards from Northern Ireland.

We're quite convinced that these individuals aren't trying to pull a fast one. They've been incredibly supportive, offering us consistent service and even provided a paid antivirus solution.

I received a call recently on 19th January 2011 from someone claiming to be from Oxfordshire. The moment I started to question them, the call was abruptly terminated. Then, just earlier today, on 20th January around half past nine in the morning, another call came through. The caller alleged they had information concerning malware that had purportedly invaded my computer and insisted I activate it so they could assist me in fixing the issue. When I asked for their name and number, the chap identified himself as Lionel and provided the number 01865522108. I explained that I was in the midst of something and would return the call later. Following that, I did a bit of digging and found several comments about this number on this site.

I received the exact same call earlier, from a chap named Alex claiming to be from the Windows Service department. He wanted me to let him know when I could return the call, but after looking up the number, I won't be reaching out anytime soon. Cheers for the heads-up!
