Got a call from 01788045081 too, just like everyone else. It was an automated message saying exactly the same stuff.

This morning at about 10:19, I got a call on my landline from a recorded voice saying my BT phone and broadband would be disconnected in the next hour. Since I’m not even tied into a contract with BT, it was clearly a scam trying to scare me.

About five mins ago, I got a call with some robot voice saying it’s BT and that my internet’s gonna get disconnected soon if I don’t press 1 or 2 on the phone. I’m in telecom myself and I can tell you, this is a massive scam. Usually what happens is your internet just cuts out randomly, and then you’re left phoning BT trying to figure out what went wrong. Dodgy stuff, watch out!

Had a call from 01864827319 earlier today, and it was one of those automated messages claiming my broadband, internet, and phone would be cut off in the next hour. Total nonsense if you ask me. Definitely a scam trying to scare people.

Never answer questions if this number rings you up. It’s a total scam. The caller, usually with an Indian accent, will claim to be from BT and tell you there’s an issue with your internet connection. They’ll warn you that your broadband will be cut off within the hour so they can ‘fix’ it. What they’re really doing is trying to break into your system and nick your personal info online. If you get a call from these folk, make sure you report it to the police straight away.

I keep getting calls all day from different Barclays numbers, something like ending in 204 and another one 261. It's driving me mad. I’m definitely not a Barclays customer, so I called the bank directly and they told me those numbers don’t even belong to them. Really annoying getting these random calls constantly.

Got a call saying my internet would be disconnected, then they wanted me to press one to speak to BT, which isn’t even my supplier. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from an automated voice saying my BT internet would be cut off unless I pressed 1 to fix or 2 to cancel. I just ended the call straight away. Used 1471 to see who it was, then looked up the number here. Seems loads of people got the exact same message today.

Got a call saying the internet was about to be cut off, asked to press 1 to fix it or 2 to cancel. The number 1471 showed up, and when I looked it up on my iPhone, it came up as Biggar, Scotland. It made me a bit uneasy since it’s my elderly grandma’s phone. I just told her if it happens again, to hang up straight away because BT would always send a letter if there was a real issue.

Got a call from this number saying my BT phone and internet would be disconnected soon. Problem is, I’m not even with BT, so obviously it’s just a scam. If you get a call from this number, best thing to do is just hang up straight away. And if your phone doesn’t show the number, don’t answer at all. They’re just trying to trick people and it’s proper shady behaviour. Stay sharp!

I got a call just like that. Luckily, I've got a CPR Callblocker and smashed the big red button before the scammer even had a chance to finish talking. I don’t use BT either. These lot are just pathetic.

Got a ring from this number today at 2:19 pm, but I ended up hanging up. This wasn’t the first time either - I’d already had a call like this on Wed 11 April, sounded just the same but came from a different number: 00049800800150. I’d watch out for this one too. They claim to be with British Telecom but they’re definitely not, and honestly, they should be made to face some legal action for it.

Just like all the others mentioned, this is just another bunch of con artists running a scam. I don’t get why they can’t just find real work, and how come there’s no proper control over local number sales? It’s ridiculous!
