Some bloke called Justin rang up, saying he could sort out my HP printer remote connection. He seemed pretty clued up, so I let him into my computer for a while. Then suddenly, he said my laptop had a Trojan virus and that they could fix it for a whopping £199.99. That’s when I started feeling iffy about the whole thing and quickly ended the call and turned off my PC. I’ve since realised what a Trojan virus really is, and there’s no way my Mac’s got one.

Some bloke named Dennis rang me and took a moment to thank everyone who’s left a review here. He said someone was attempting to purchase #### using my email address. I’ve been caught out by scams before, so I was on my guard right from the start. This guy is really pushy - he’s left three voicemails and phoned me four times. Now I’m worried because he’s got my phone number, address, and email too.

I've had a run-in with this person previously. They claim there's an issue with your computer, but really, it’s just all about getting your cash!

A few years ago, these people tried to con me into handing over loads of cash by claiming my PC was full of hacking issues - which was totally untrue. Now, they’ve got in touch again using this number, insisting I supposedly paid for 5 years of support and that my computer has problems once more. I looked into the date they mentioned about my payment, and it was way off. They already have my phone, email, and address, which honestly makes me quite uneasy. Be careful and don’t fall for their tricks!

My old husband nearly fell for this con until I stepped in after overhearing the call and told them, quite firmly, we had no interest. The caller backed off straight away.
They tried ringing again tonight, same bloke, so I cut them dead again. The problem is my husband is too trusting and honest, assuming everyone else is the same. This number is definitely dodgy.

Had a similar thing happen to me when I was trying to get my printer setup. Got a call from “tech support” but the person didn’t seem to know much about printers at all - made me feel fishy so I ended the call. But the scary part is, they somehow took control of my laptop for a little while. I’ve since deleted the app they told me to download and unplugged from the internet. Not sure if there’s anything else I should do though, any advice?

Was setting up a Canon printer and for some silly reason, I gave them my phone number online. I kept wondering why they’d want it in the first place. Of course, I should have trusted my gut. Got a call shortly after and I just hung up immediately. Total scam, no doubt about it.

Complete rip off. I went through exactly what others mentioned here. Some phony Canon tech support bloke took control of our laptop, started telling us about supposed corrupted files, and tried to push a firewall on us. We ended up shutting everything down fast and turned off the Wi-Fi for a bit. Plus, we had to get rid of some dodgy programme called Arvada that they sneaked onto our system.

This number rang me three times back to back. I reckon it came from some dodgy website pretending to be "Canon". I was setting up my printer and must have ended up on the same bogus site as another commenter. When I saw their message, it clicked that we both might have entered our numbers on the very same fake page!

I got a ring from this number while I was chatting on a call with Canon about my camera. They left a voicemail claiming they were from Canon and needed to talk about setting up my printer. After finishing my call with Canon, the technician actually gave me a different number to ring, definitely not this one. The caller was a foreign lady with a heavy accent, said her name was Angela - I couldn’t help but chuckle at the whole thing.
