When I picked up, an automated voice claimed that my BT broadband and landline were going to be cut off unless I rang a particular number immediately. It’s clearly a scam. I don’t understand how these crooks manage to use what looks like a proper UK phone number to run their dodgy schemes. Surely the UK telecom companies have the means to block these criminals or refuse them access to the network in the first place?
