I picked up the phone to hear a rather posh-sounding voice on the line, claiming to be from BT. They warned me about some suspicious goings-on with my computer and internet connection and urged me to press 1 for assistance. Naturally, I didn’t comply. A bit of digging revealed that the area code traced back to Ardgate in the Scottish Highlands, a bit of a red flag for potential scams in my opinion. I've since blocked the number, and I’d highly recommend anyone else encountering it do likewise to stave off any hassle.
