Got a recorded call claiming to be from Amazon Prime saying I’d been charged £79.99 for a year’s membership. It said press 1 to cancel or 2 to talk to an account manager. The voice on the other end sounded like it came from India. They told me to download some remote access app so they could "help" by logging into Amazon’s secure system to cancel the charge, even though nothing had actually gone through. Obviously, this was a scam to get full control of my device, including online banking and stuff. Very dodgy!

Had a couple of annoying calls on my home phone today, both claiming to be about Amazon Prime. One came from a number ending in 021, the other 019 - basically the same spiel. I just hung up straight away. The problem is, my landline doesn’t have the option to block numbers, which is a bit pointless anyway since these scammers just keep switching numbers all the time. Properly frustrating and a bit worrying too.
