Yesterday I got a ring from this number, they said they was from 02 so I just ended the call. Then, a bit later, the same bloke called from 0151 314 6691, said he was from Liverpool. Today I had another call from 0161 524 5039, guy claimed to be from a phone company in Manchester, but I ended it straight away again.

Got a ring from this number earlier today. Since I don’t know anyone from that area in Scotland, I just let it ring out. No voicemail was left, so it obviously wasn’t anything urgent. Got a call from a lady claiming she worked for Phonehouse and wanted to sell me a phone deal. She mentioned being in a London call centre but somehow knew my network provider. She said she found my number on some database, which I only accessed last night. Thing is, that database belongs to my workplace, so basically she nicked my number from a private company site.

This showed up as a number from the Isle of Rum. I don’t have any connections there so I ignored it. Getting loads of these scam calls lately, and it seems like these fraudsters get their hands on batches of UK phone numbers from some IT firms. Honestly, the UK regulators need to do something about these companies supplying numbers to scammers, especially since some of these crooks appear to be overseas.

Got a call from 02 today. I asked them twice where they got my number from and they claimed they had my info. When I asked them to tell me what details they had, they kept dodging the question. After I pushed a third time, they just dropped the call. Proper dodgy behaviour.
