Every morning the phone rings but as soon as I pick up, the line goes dead. Usually it’s just silence, but today the caller actually asked how I was doing. There was loads of background noise, lots of people speaking really fast. It seemed like he was trying to talk about internet services, but his accent and the speed made it hard to catch. When I asked him to say it again, he just hung up. The incoming number shows as an "international call" on my landline. Feels like it’s a call centre somewhere in Punjab.
