Got a call at 2:33pm today from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be "Marshall Phillips" - which sounded totally Indian to me! He said he was from some TECH CENTRE about my computer. I didn't let him carry on, just told him to do one. Another scam attempt for sure!

I wasn’t home when this number called, so my answerphone picked up. The caller just said “hello” and didn’t bother to leave any proper message. I enjoy messing about with these scam calls - keeping them on the line pretending i’m interested. Then, out of the blue, I’ll ask, “do you honestly believe i’m some kind of total moron?” and watch them squirm.

They won’t stop ringing me. This time it’s some bloke from India asking for the old lady I care for. It’s already the second call today and happens all the time. I’m properly shouting at them to quit their annoying calls! They use loads of different numbers, some are rubbish like 000000453 or something! Honestly, who even calls from that? Sometimes I just keep quiet on the phone ‘cause I know it’s them from the weird background noises and dodgy connection between here and there. The elderly are vulnerable enough without all this! Next time, I’m thinking of blowing a whistle down the line!

Got a call earlier today from some bloke calling himself Chinese Dave on this number! He was looking for a lady by name, but I told him that wasn’t me. He then asked if I was related somehow. I inquired what it was about, and he started going on about my computer supposedly catching dangerous viruses. I joked about handing over my bank details, and he fired back saying ‘You’re mixing me up with a scammer!’ Still, how would he know that unless he’s got some tech knowledge? I told him we have an IT guy around here, and he said ‘That’s for hardware, this problem is software related.’ Really pushy and annoying so I just hung up. Seriously, why are these people still allowed to operate? Give it a rest already!!!

This was definitely one of those scammers on the phone pretending to be from tech support. They said my computer had loads of issues and wanted to get in remotely. Normally I’d mess about and keep them waiting, but I was short on time today so just hung up.

I got a call lately, and I could hear what sounded like a call centre buzzing away in the backround, but no one actually said anything. So, I just ended the call. We've got TPS on our number and also blocked any calls coming from overseas.

My landline rang earlier today and a woman with a foreign accent was asking for me by name. I told her I wasn’t home and then she ended the call. I looked up the number online afterwards and have now blocked it on my phone.

Got a few calls earlier today from someone insisting I switch on my PC. They couldn’t even say my email or my internet provider’s name. I told them straight up I have no clue who they were and wasn’t having any of it. The bloke, calling himself David Miller, seemed to get a bit narked. He gave me a boss number to verify, said it was 17865 if anyone wants to try it out.

Got a call earlier claiming that I was picking up viruses every time I went online, and they could sort it out! (Like I'm daft enough to fall for that and fork out cash.) When I told them I don't even own a laptop, she quickly switched to "Oh, you mean your iPad!" Sure thing, mate.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming they weren't scammers and that they wanted to help with my laptop because apparently it was getting loads of spam messages. I told them my laptop was actually turned off, so how could they know about any messages? They got really rude and just hung up on me. Seriously, why isn’t anything being done about these sorts of calls? It’s really worrying, especially for older folks who might panic and end up doing what they're told.

I got two calls this morning from someone saying they’d seen messages coming from my computer. When I asked them exactly which computer they meant, they couldn’t say, just told me to check any internet-connected device. I just hung up after that.
