I reckon it was one of those cold calls. The line stayed quiet for a few seconds, then when a voice came through, there was loads of noise in the background - classic sign, I think. I ended up just hanging up before the person really started talking, but caught the first few words from a guy with a British accent. Looking up the 01856 code on Google, it’s from Orkney. Thing is, I’ve got zero links to Scotland, let alone any of the Orkney Islands!

Adding to what I mentioned before, I reckon this might be one of those 'Virtual Landline' numbers that just redirects your call somewhere else. Honestly, it feels a bit dodgy to me.
