6 yearsOn 28th July 2020, I got a call in London from the number 0185 3030 572 claiming to be from Mastercard or Visa, telling me that £600 had just been sent overseas from my bank. They said to press 1 if I wanted to stop the transaction. Pretty obvious this was a scam. I also received a few other calls that seemed fishy: 0159 2484 554 on 15th May 2020, 0156 3600 626 on 16th May 2020, and 0039 679 560 787 on 19th May 2020. My bank account didn’t have any £600 transfers going abroad during May, so I’m certain these calls were bogus.LondonMastercardVisa8 yearsNo idea who it was, they rang when I wasn’t home and didn’t bother leaving a message. Total scam.TalkTalk8 yearsGot a call earlier from someone pretending to be TalkTalk, claiming there was an issue with my account. Definitely a scam trying to get info!TalkTalk8 yearsJust after midday, I got a call from someone saying his name was Alec, claiming to work for Talktalk. He began going on about how my phone would be disconnected unless I called a certain number, similar to what others have described here. There was loads of noise in the background like a busy call centre. I didn’t let him get far though - I told him straight up he was clearly trying to scam me and then ended the call. Plus, I know 01853 isn’t even a valid area code, so that was another dead giveaway.Alec8 yearsWhen I answered the phone, I stayed quiet but a woman kept saying hello over and over.
