I received a rather unsettling call earlier from a deep-voiced gentleman who sounded a bit like a robotic character. He claimed to represent BT and mentioned something along the lines of my phone service being on the verge of termination, urging me to make a choice by pressing either 1 or 2. The thing is, I’m with Sky, not BT, and there was something quite menacing about his tone, so I decided to hang up. After that, I dialled 1471 to grab the number, only to find that when I called it back, I was met with a message stating that this number does not exist. I’ll be reaching out to both BT and Sky to alert them to this rather distressing experience. For the moment, though, my phone line remains intact!
