Had a call from this number today, the 2nd of October, 2017, purporting to be from BT Security. When I questioned the legitimacy of the caller, he fumbled his words and then transferred me to his supervisor, who also had a thick Indian accent. It was clear they were completely clueless. Definitely sounded like a scam, so I decided to hang up.

Twice today I've had a bloke calling himself "Adam." First time I said I'd pass him on to my husband, and he promised he'd ring back again later. Both times, he blamed some sort of internet issue that was apparently affecting BT. When I said BT isn’t even my provider, he just carried on like it was nothing. Really glad I found this site - now I know exactly what to do if he calls again!

Got a call today, sounds just like the others mentioned here. When he asked me to switch on my computer, I told him I’d leave it to my IT bloke. He was pretty stubborn about it and even had the nerve to ask when he might ring me again.

31/01/2017 - Got a call from some bloke named John claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with our line causing trouble on their system. When I asked how he even got our number, he just hung up on me. Makes you wonder, why don’t BT or Openreach just shut down the lines when there’s a problem? Feels like they’re cashing in every time someone uses the phone line somehow.

Got a call from a bloke with a heavy Indian accent saying there was a problem with my broadband. He asked to speak to whoever uses the internet at my place. I said that was me, and then he went on about some issue with BT because of my broadband. I told him I was aware and that everything's alright, thanked him and hung up. Afterwards, I blocked the number straight away!

This number has rung me up three times now. Just today, some bloke with a strong Indian accent claimed there were issues with my broadband connection on my computer. I told him I'm 70 years old and asked how on earth he knew if I even owned a computer! Sounds just like what others have described on here. I'm with Virgin myself, and they've never once phoned me like this. Cheers to whoever runs this site, it's a big help in spotting these scams for sure!

I received a call from this number today (18th January 2017), and upon answering, I was met with silence. A moment later, I heard an odd clicking noise followed by a pre-recorded voice bidding me farewell. It all felt rather peculiar and was obviously an unwelcome interruption.

Got a call from this number on the 1st of September, 2017, purporting to be from BT. They insisted that I should log in to verify my computer’s security, but I already have top-notch protections in place. This call was unquestionably a scam, so do take care!

Just like everyone else said, got a call at 8:25 in the morning, seemed like a total scam. When I asked for a callback number, they didn’t like it one bit. Honestly, best thing is to just tell them to buzz off. Such a pain!

Like others have said, I got a call from some bloke claiming he was with BT. I played along, pretending I was fixing my internet as he told me. Then he asked if I got a message on my screen and told me to read it out loud. I said, "Do you really think I’m a complete muppet? Now bugger off." After that, he started swearing and making weird noises like he was sneaking off for a wank or something. I didn’t hang up on him, just let the phone sit there till he gave up and ended the call. Proper scumbag behaviour!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from BT's tech support. He was saying my computer was 'at risk from some detected hacking' and insisted I let him get into my machine. Proper strong on the pushy side.

Got a call at 2.35pm on 9/12/16, the guy had an Indian accent and said there was a problem with my BT broadband, asking to get into my computer. I told him we actually use Virgin fibre but he insisted Virgin runs off BT lines or something. I told him that was rubbish then just ended the call.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were calling from BT. They said there was something wrong with my broadband that was affecting my computer and BT’s network. The bloke then asked me to type in a long string of numbers on my computer, which I instantly suspected was some kind of malware. I told him I wasn’t falling for scams like that and ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some bloke in India asking me to switch over to my PC desktop to check my internet connection. The call dropped on me two times - pretty decent for BT, I guess. They phoned back a couple of times after that, but I just ignored them. Felt dodgy, like it was a scam.

i usually try and drag the call out as much as possible, they dont seem to get it when i say i’ve got no internet and the only gadgets ive got are a microwave and a washing machine. my missus gets more annoyed with me than the caller sometimes. once i lasted about 8 minutes with one, my granddaughter was with me in the doctor’s waiting room and we had a laugh messing with them.
