a guy with a kinda indian accent called me claiming there were issues with my PC and that loads of sites had bad stuff on them. i pretended to be interested till he asked what was showing on my screen. i said, “it’s just my usual ubuntu linux desktop” and he dropped the call right after.

Someone rung me earlier saying they were from the IT team. When I asked how they got my number, they claimed it came from the company. I told them I don’t use Windows, and then they switched to saying it was a Mac, still insisting the company provided the number. I’ve never shared this number with anyone, so I pressed them again about where they got it from, and then they just ended the call.

It felt like they were counting down a timer while I was trying to respond, like there was some kind of deadline hanging over me. Quite annoying, really.

Got a call earlier from someone saying my computer might have some hidden issues I’m unaware of. I told them I wasn’t interested right away. He said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything but wanted to alert me about possible problems. I explained my son’s a computer tech and I’m sure there’s nothing wrong. He went quiet and I just hung up. Reminded me of that one show about scams where they rip people off thousands for fake repairs. Sounded dodgy to me.
