Got a call from someone called Simon about our loft insulation, which we never had done. I use Call Guardian from BT but it didn’t stop the call, no caller ID shown, but I was curious so I answered (my landline showed it as INTERNATIONAL). There was a delay when talking to Simon, probably cos it was an international call. He spoke perfect English, no accent you could place. I told him we hadn’t had any insulation done. Simon said sorry and hung up. The number's blocked now. Looks like they might be targeting older folks, maybe my 66-year-old voice sounded too young for them.

Got a really annoying call that just kept bothering me.

Received a call from a chap named Simon claiming he was inquiring about some loft insulation I supposedly had installed recently. When I replied that I had no clue what he was on about, he promptly hung up on me. A couple of days later, he rang back, repeating the same lines. I reminded him that he’d already called and I had mentioned my ignorance on the matter, only for him to disconnect once more. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to block his number, so I’ve resorted to activating 'Do Not Disturb' mode on my phone for the time being. Hopefully, it'll keep him from pestering me further if he decides to try again.

They told me the insulation in my loft wasn’t up to scratch and could lead to mould in some homes. I mentioned I’d done an attic conversion. He said it seemed like I hadn’t got a service report since then, but no problem, they’d sort that out now. I said I didn’t want anyone in my home because of covid, and then he just hung up on me!! Made me feel pretty uncomfortable.

It popped up on my caller ID as 'International'. There was a recorded voice claiming to be from a Support Agency in London. The bloke said his name was Simon, but then just cut the call. His accent sounded quite refined, not at all posh, and definitely sounded like a native English speaker from England. Pretty sure this was a scam call trying to fish for info, so I wouldn’t trust it.

This bloke rings me at least every week, sometimes more often, but he switches the number slightly each time since I keep blocking the previous one. I know it’s the same guy (I can recognise his voice) called Matt. He says he’s from some Government Home energy firm, but now he won’t even give a proper company name or address. Every single time he claims I asked about loft insulation (which I never did!) and that he’s following up on it. Now I just tell him to stop bothering me, that I know who he is, and that I’ve reported him. It’s just unwanted and annoying harassment.

The bloke said his name was John and started asking me about loft insulation. I asked him which company he was calling from and after a bit he said ‘Information Advisory Services’. He kept pushing about the insulation and I told him to send me some details as I hadn’t heard of that company before and I don’t chat to strangers on the phone. Right after that, the call just cut off. Sounds like one of those AI pre-recorded calls, like others have mentioned.

Got a call about 5 minutes back regarding loft insulation (which I got done over 10 years ago) and that it might be causing dampness. They said I could get compensation (I told them I’d seen that damp problem and said "YES"). Then they asked if I owned the house (bit daft me, said "Yes" again), then they wanted to know if I run a gas boiler or if my place is fully electric. When I asked why that mattered, they just dropped the call.

She immediately said, "No thanks, sounds like you’re trying to scam me." Then he just hung up. It’s awful to try that sort of thing, especially on someone so old and vulnerable.
