Sounds exactly like one of those banking scams to me. I got a recorded message about suspicious activity on my bank account and was told to hit 2 at the end. When I did, it connected me to a number overseas. I hung up straight away. Later, I checked the caller ID and realised they had spoofed a local number to make it look legit.
