Got a call from a call centre, it seems – which explains the silent interruptions! An Asian gentleman was on the line, claiming he needed to conduct some market research, insisting it would be a quick ten-minute chat. I said I couldn’t assist him at the moment, pretending I was stuck in a shop queue (which I wasn't, by the way). He abruptly ended the call.
