No answer, just silence. Seems like they could be recycling an old number from a few years back?

It was one of those call centre robocalls, explains the silent ringing. An asian guy trying to do some market survey, kept promising he’d not ring back anymore. Told him I wasn’t the right person and it’d only be a quick ten mins. Claimed I was in a shop queue (which I wasn’t really). Then he just ended the call.

I got a call before where there was no answer, then later a woman with an Asian accent phoned asking if I was the lady of the house & said she wanted to carry out some kind of 'home survey' (had to get her to repeat that coz I couldnt understand her properly). I told her nicely that I don’t usually take part in those things and we both said goodbye and she ended the call.

This number keeps calling us every week, typically in the early hours. An automated voice pops on, says a quick farewell, and then the line just goes silent. It’s quite irritating, especially since we have to dash downstairs to pick up the phone each time.

I had to wait a tad longer than expected for the line to connect - I stuck with it largely out of intrigue. A chap with a strong Indian accent, who introduced himself as 'Brian', greeted me in the most courteous manner, asking, "How are you today, madam?" (Which I found a bit disconcerting as he seemed to know my name). He mentioned he was calling to ask a few 'marketing questions'. I promptly informed him that I had no intention of engaging in any conversation, pointed out that it was an unsolicited call, and requested he refrain from calling me again. I suspect this could be a rather clever attempt at phishing. PLEASE, DO NOT RESPOND!!

It took a bit before the call connected, but I stayed on just to see what was up. A guy with a strong Indian accent who said his name was 'Brian' got on and said he had some 'brief marketing questions'. I quickly told him I'm not interested in answering anything since it was an unsolicited call, and asked him not to ring again. Feels like it could be some sort of sneaky phishing scam. Definitely avoid picking up if you get a call like this.

I keep getting these calls on my home phone, and it's rather odd. There’s just silence at first, then out of nowhere, a woman’s voice chimes in saying ‘goodbye’ before I can even say a word. Very peculiar, to say the least!

Some guy from India claimed he was carrying out home surveys, I mentioned my Hotpoint was working fine, he then asked if I could help him. I said yes, but he’s meant to be the one helping me. He said he was recording the call, I said fine, piss off and hung up. Then he rang me back like 7 times, being really rude and threatening to share my number everywhere, saying I’d get scammed by him and others, even played music through the phone. Kept ringing nonstop. DO NOT PICK UP! Contact BT instead!

A bloke with an accent I couldn't place said he was Kevin from BT. He claimed my broadband showed a 'red light' issue. He told me to switch my router off and back on. Then he asked me to start up my computer. I said I already had, and he asked if it was a work laptop. When I said no, he started having me go through loads of setup stuff. I then told him I was a police officer and had to get ready for work. Suddenly, the call ended right away! Bit suspicious, don't you think?

Just like what everyone else is saying, I get loads of calls daily from this number or one like it. Whenever I pick up, it's just silence, nobody on the line. I tried using 1471 and got this number, but when I phoned it from a different mobile, it said number not available. Proper fed up with these calls, it's like they have no right to keep bothering us like this.

Got a call again from a man with an Indian accent claiming he was from Virgin. He told my mum that 16 people were trying to hack her PC. He guided her through some tests and wanted her to install an app called Team Viewer. She didn’t realise it gave full access to her computer. When he asked her to put her bank name into the software, she got suspicious and ended the call. That same number has rang back about 5 or 6 times already. Seriously, something needs done about these calls!!! So many elderly people could fall for this!!!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who said his name was "Ray" and said he was doing a survey for "UK House & Review." He actually knew my full name, address and phone number. Ever since I was with Talk Talk, I've been getting calls like this nonstop. I'm convinced some insider at Talk Talk, likely in their Indian call centre, leaked my info. It’s well-known Talk Talk had security problems with their outsourced teams. Best just not to share any personal info with these folks.
