Got a call from Luke, someone claiming to be an energy advisor from around here. It was one of those annoying recorded calls that just loops depending on what you say. Turns out it's a scam trying to push loft insulation on you. They also ask to come into your home for a fake inspection and want your bank details too. Really dodgy!

I picked up this call just to see what it was about. Like others have said, a bloke called ‘Matthew’ eventually came on, saying he was a local energy advisor and that we’d been flagged on their system about some kind of energy matter. I cut him off straight away and told him it sounded like an energy scam, that I was onto it, and that I’d be reporting the call. There’s been loads of calls like this recently, all from different VoIP numbers. I usually ignore unknown numbers but decided to answer this time so I could share what happened here.

Saw that some folks actually ring back numbers like this one. Honestly, only daft people do that - it’s a proper silly move. Could be one of those Wangiri style scams. Lots of scammers blitz out fake numbers created by computers to catch victims and sometimes the number they use is actually a real person’s, which just totally messes with them for no good reason.

So, I pick up the phone, and this chap introduces himself as Luke, claiming to be my neighbourhood energy consultant. Honestly, I've been inundated with similar calls recently-some from numbers flagged as dodgy-and I wasn't having any of it. I politely declined and swiftly hung up.
