It seems there's a rather dodgy character out there, mimicking BT and attempting to persuade unsuspecting folks to hand over control of their computers. It starts with a recorded spiel, followed by a call from an Indian rep - quite the comedy routine, isn’t it? Humorous, unless you happen to be someone who's a bit more vulnerable to their tricks! I’m planning to reach out to BT and give them a heads-up about this situation. As of the date 18.02.19, if anyone falls victim to this nonsense, I’ll make sure BT is held accountable for any repercussions. I'm also going to insist they take action on that number pronto!
