Today marks the fifth time they've rung me, and this time I actually picked up after reading this thread online. I asked the woman where she got my info from and she just goes, "blimey, I haven’t even said where I’m calling from yet." When I told her to stop calling me, she said, “I don't have to stop ringing you.” Absolutely ridiculous.

They said they were from some national accident register and phoned to put an end to all the annoying calls about my supposed accident. When I asked who had set this ‘wonderful’ service up, seeing as I’d never asked for any help, the whole tone of the call switched. It was actually Blackmount! Just another pesky call with a different spiel. They’re based in Newquay. Best to just ignore and block them.

Got a call today about an accident that supposedly hadn’t been sorted yet. They said it was my fault for not giving way at a roundabout. I asked the woman if she had actually passed her driving test, since when you’re already on a roundabout you don’t stop for cars joining it. She just hung up on me. I rang them back, shocked they’d shared my info with this Blackmount firm. Spoke to a guy called Toby who promised to put a stop to any more annoying calls from other companies. What other companies? The only calls I’m getting are from these lot.

Black mount called asking for my son. When I asked what it was about, she said she was returning his call. I told her she must have the wrong number coz this is my line. She just hung up, sounded really grumpy and cheeky. Honestly, best thing is to block this annoying number.

Like a few others mentioned, this Black Mount person said she was ringing on behalf of the National Accident Database to prevent annoying calls about an accident. She said she needed to verify some info to assist me. I asked her if she'd even heard of GDPR and how they'd got hold of my info and were using it. She started getting a bit rude so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

Got a really annoying call about a car crash I was involved in a few months back. They keep saying “closing the file” to try and get me to listen. Since then, I’ve had other calls from numbers starting with 020 3393 xxxx. It really irritates me that my insurance company (LV) seems to have handed over my personal info to these scammers. LV say it’s actually the repair garage that passes on the details and that they get fined £10 if they’re caught.

Got a call from a bloke saying his name was Toby from Black Mount. He told me "They’re here to handle those annoying calls about my car crash." When I pressed him for his surname, he got all defensive and refused to share it. Then when I asked who sent them, he just hung up. Obviously, I’ve blocked the number now. Complete scammers, no doubt about it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Black Mount or Blackmount, saying they’d been sent to help me deal with constant calls about some accident. I told them I had no clue what accident they meant, then they just ended the call. This was like the fifth time in a week, and since the caller ID showed ‘Newquay’, I figured I’d finally pick up.

Got a call from a woman who said she was from Blackmount or something similar. She told me she was "appointed" to block all those annoying calls from accident claims firms about my crash last year. She told me all the calls were because my accident details were on some "Public National Accident Database". She asked me to confirm the date of the accident. I asked her the name of her organisation, then started googling while she was still on the line. After a bit, she lost interest and just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying I was getting persistent calls. I quickly told her to take my number off her list. She snapped back, 'you don't even know why I'm calling!' •••SCAMMERS / CON ARTISTS ??? Why are these muppets supposedly ringing from NEWQUAY, CORNWALL [UK code 01841] about an accident you supposedly had back in January [seriously?]. Most likely this number is being “spoofed” [used fraudulently], and the call could actually come from anywhere in the world, using a “VPN” [Virtual Phone Number] and “VoIP” [Voice over Internet Protocol]. You definitely did the right thing blocking them - services like TPS are basically useless against these types of calls. ;-)

Got a call from a woman on my mobile, said I’d been getting calls about a crash I had back in January, and apparently it’s ‘cause my insurance company hasn’t closed the file yet. She claimed she could sort the calls out for me, but I said I was tied up and to just do what’s needed to stop them. Then she asked for more info, which made me a bit iffy, so I said I had to dash. Ended up blocking the number now.

Some guy rang up saying i was in an accident on the 1st of Nov last year. He claimed he could sort out all the annoying calls i keep gettin. When i said i’d never had an accident, he sounded a bit lost. Funny thing is, almost everyone who calls mentions Nov 1 - probably just a random date to trick you into giving the real one. He was quite polite but clearly didn’t know what was goin on. I just ended the call.
