9 yearsi got a call from a man speaking with a heavy indian accent, saying there was an issue with my computer. he was a bit unclear about his company or where he was calling from but went straight into trying to guide me through ‘fixing’ my PC. i played along for a while, mainly to find out exactly what he wanted, and turns out he wanted remote access to my machine. when i asked him if people really get tricked by this sort of thing, he just cut me off mid-sentence and hung up - no goodbye or anything, even though the chat was going fine. bit disappointing really.India9 yearsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent saying my PC was messed up. He asked me to hit ctrl + windows + r keys. I told him no and he just hung up. Later, I looked it up on Microsoft’s legit site and found out these crooks want to control your PC remotely, steal your personal stuff, then wipe your hard drive so you can’t trace them.
