NUMBER: 01835818401 called me just before 9 in the morning today. I got a really intimidating automated message about National Insurance contributions and possible legal trouble. I rang back by accident and a guy with an Asian accent answered. It soon became clear to me it wasn’t really from HMRC, so I ended the call straight away.

Honestly, these folks should be stopped right away. It’s obvious this is a nasty scam, and we’ve got enough problems in the country without these opportunists scaring vulnerable old people. I bet someone out there knows who opened this account and who’s footing the bill. They should be put behind bars for harassment and fraud straight away, and enough wasting people’s time already.

Received a call claiming they spotted a blue car in Chester under my name, but I don’t even drive. Then they went on about raiding a place and finding cocaine there. They also said the call’s being recorded for HMRC and that they might block my national insurance. Sounded totally fishy to me.

I received a rather peculiar call from someone purporting to represent HMRC-funny enough, that's where I actually work! 😂 They were quite forceful, insisting that I was facing legal repercussions unless I returned their call. To top it all off, they had the audacity to sign off with a cheery 'Have a Blessed Day'. What a scam!

Got a voicemail on my home phone blocking service back on June 30th, 2020, warning it was my final warning before legal trouble. They claimed the call was from HMRC. Pretty obvious it's a dodgy scam, but the strangest bit was they ended with "Take care and have a blessed day."

Someone called my mum who’s quite old and left a voicemail saying there was some kind of legal problem linked to her National Insurance number and name, and she had to call them back. I’ve just had an encounter with what seems to be a fraudulent caller. They pretended to be from HMRC, claiming I owed taxes. When I declined to share any personal information during the call, they began to threaten me with legal action for tax evasion. I kept the number they called from and decided to ring back, asking for the caller’s name and office address. They provided a name that sounded utterly fabricated and flat out refused to disclose any location-quite odd for someone claiming to represent a government agency! After that, they hung up without warning.

Got a voicemail from this number, 01835 818401, with some guy called Mike Wilson claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs. He was warning about a big legal problem over unpaid National Insurance. The message was pretty threatening and definitely seemed like a scam to me. I wouldn’t recommend calling back. There’s two people living here and the message didn’t say who it was for, plus we never shared this landline number with anyone. Oddly, the call came a day after I noticed HMRC’s records showed I hadn’t paid NI from about 8 years ago.
