Got a call from 01839 278965, some automated voice warning me my BT internet would be disconnected. Thing is, I’m not even a BT customer. Didn’t fancy the idea of racking up charges by pressing anything, so I just ended the call straight away.

01839 278965 called me too, and like others mentioned, it's just some rookie scammer having a go. Legit banks or phone companies won’t ring you with weird robot voices or ask you to press buttons out of the blue. If they really knew stuff about your account, they wouldn’t need to do all that automated nonsense. Anything asking you to tap numbers or follow weird links? Definitely a con. Best thing to do is just end the call straight away.

Got a call from 01839-278965 with a robotic voice claiming my BT internet would be disconnected the next day. Told me not to press anything and just hung up myself. Definitely a scam, so don't trust it!

I got a call the other day and when I picked up, there was this robotic voice saying my internet would be cut off today. It told me to press 1 to chat with tech support about it. Don’t fall for it, it’s all a scam. Just hang up straight away and let your broadband company know about the call.
