Barnard Castle? Nah, this call’s actually coming from somewhere close to the Bombay Hilton! Yesterday, there were three posts explaining exactly how to block these scam calls. It’s pointless if just I do something about it. We need loads of people who get these calls to start doing something before anything’s done to put a stop to these dodgy calls from overseas.

I received a call from someone requesting that I renew my Sky breakdown cover. When I rang back, they did indeed confirm they were from Sky. However, when I attempted to reach out to Sky through the email address listed on their official website, it turns out that the address is non-existent! Quite puzzling, to say the least!

Someone called claiming to be from Sky about some tv insurance cover. I asked them who exactly they thought I was, but they just went silent and then ended the call. Definitely a scam!

Received a call from a number I didn’t know on a Saturday afternoon. I let it ring, as I had a hunch it was dodgy. Turned out I was spot on! 😂 No way I was falling for that nonsense. 👍

I had no clue who could be calling from Barnard Castle, so I just let it ring out. They never left a voicemail or anything, so I figured it must’ve been nothing urgent. Seeing what others have said about these calls, I’m pretty relieved I didn’t bother answering.

WATCH OUT FOR SCAM CALLS! If you suspect you’ve been targeted, head over to the police.uk website and look for the ‘report phishing’ section under Action Fraud. Make sure you read all the instructions carefully before you report anything. When you fill out the form, include every bit of info, like any links or websites they sent you. This is how the police get a clear picture of how widespread these scams are and hopefully can stop more people getting caught out.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying our Sky maintenance deal was ending today and that we needed to renew it, giving prices for both one and two year options. We ringed up Sky directly and they said we don’t have any contract like that with them.

Tread carefully, everyone! I received a dodgy call claiming my TV warranty was about to expire, and they offered to extend it for a whopping £90. They were keen to get hold of my credit card info. Just to set the record straight, we never pay for that sort of coverage in the first place, so there’s absolutely nothing to renew! This is nothing but a fraudulent scheme!

Some bloke rang saying he was from Sky Protect. Didn’t know my direct debit amount when I asked, and when he guessed, it was totally off. Tried to push me into a cheaper deal that I had to sign up for immediately. Then went on about a £89 fee if I tried to cancel. Told him I thought it was a dodgy scam and that I’d report him, and he just said “See you in court.” Proper aggressive fella, nothing legit about it!

Total con! Some guy from India rang up saying my Sky breakdown cover was about to run out and I had to renew it. He didn’t even know my name or what my monthly payment was. Even if he was legit, it wouldn’t add up cause I don’t even have Sky in the first place!
