There was a call from this number on 19/10/22 but I missed it and didn’t pick up.

I got a call on my home phone which I didn't pick up, so I rang back using 1471. Then they rang my mobile and there was an Indian accent, saying they were from some office, but the line was really bad so I couldn't catch what they were saying properly. After that, I got a robo message saying "this persons voicemail box is full, please try again later." Bit weird if you ask me.

I didn't actually answer the call, but I looked up the number here. It’s near my area, and there’s no chance there’s any Microsoft office or anything like that around there. Seems like the number was probably just purchased, which really should be something the government sorts out.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Windows support. I told them they were scammers and hung up straight away.

I got a call from someone who somehow knew my name and asked if I was using a Windows computer. He told me there were some issues and wanted me to grab my laptop so he could guide me over the phone on how to fix it. I told him I wasn’t able to do that, and then he just ended the call.

Got a call from a guy with a strong Indian accent, said he was from Microsoft’s tech support. He claimed my computer was sending them error messages, which is weird because I don’t even own a computer. I played along and told him I hadn’t seen any errors pop up. But he kept pestering me, asking again and again if I was certain about that. Eventually, when I stuck to my story, he just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam, and after looking it up, it was confirmed. Total waste of time.

After reading some of the remarks here, I've become more alert. When a call comes in from this number, my phone shows it as Possible Scam. I've just blocked it.

Got a ring on 13/10/22 from someone claiming to be with Microsoft’s tech team. They said some software on my PC had been hacked and wanted to guide me on fixing it. I told them I couldn’t talk right then and asked them to call back another time.

Later I checked the number 01832771124 online and saw quite a few others had mentioned similar calls. Thought I'd share this here.

He insisted on fixing it there and then with me. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I asked him to ring back another time. I couldn't pick up the call, but if it was someone saying they were from Microsoft, they’re obviously not telling the truth. Don’t waste time contacting Ofcom - just report it straight to Microsoft. They’ve got the resources, the influence, and the motivation to shut these scams down, even when these fraudsters are running the scam from a call centre overseas, like in India. They’ve handled this kind of thing before.

Got a call about my computer, but I told them I don't even own one! The caller then seemed kinda lost for words. They knew my name though, which was a bit creepy. I guess maybe because I’d just bought something on eBay, that’s how they got my info? I just said this has to be a joke and ended the call straight away!

Somebody rang me up and knew my name straight away. They started going on about some computer updates I supposedly had to do. I told them it was nonsense, then asked if they even knew what kind of computer I owned. Bit of a silence and then they just ended the call. Luckily, I had heard about these scams where they try to get into your computer and lock it down. Watch out for this one!
