Honestly, I’m pretty sure it was a scam. The bloke had an Eastern European accent and kept going on about some ‘investment opportunities’. I just told him to piss off in a polite way.

Got a call at 11:49 on 31/7/20 from someone saying I’d been in an accident that supposedly wasn’t my fault. Before I even had a chance to say I hadn’t, they just ended the call.

Like some other folks here, I was told my phone number had been messed with and was linked to some dodgy stuff. It wasn’t too bad though since back then I hardly used the internet or computers at all.

I got a call from someone with an accent i couldn’t quite catch, mentioning something to do with BT. When I told him I wasn’t hearing properly, he just ended the call.

I got a call from someone saying they were from BT, telling me my phone line was compromised and involved in some crime stuff. It was a recorded voice telling me to hold for an operator. The people on the other end had American accents. When I finally got through, I asked if they knew that what they’re doing isn’t legal, and then they just dropped the call.

Got a missed call earlier, which to me usually screams scam. This time, I stuck on the line and told them straight up what they were doing was against the law. Normally that’s enough to shut them down quickly, though I suspect they’ll just keep trying. I also told them I’m signed up with TPS and asked where they got my info from, reminding them that holding my details under GDPR is illegal and could land them in serious trouble. The last time that happened, the caller started swearing and hung up right away.
