I keep receiving repeated calls from someone claiming to be from British Telecom. I simply hang up the phone every time they call, as they have been calling me three times a day. I have now decided to block their number.

This morning I got a call from someone saying they were from BT and trying to sell me a better deal. But it was obvious they were faking it because they even got my name wrong and said I was already with BT, which I’m not. I didn’t hang about and just ended the call straight away.

This was totally a SCAM! The woman claimed to be from BT Tech support, which was obvious bollocks. She offered to “lower” my line rental to £19.99 but I’m already paying £18.99, so that would actually be more expensive! Then she wanted a one-off payment of £12.99 for call blocking, and insisted they needed my credit card to set it up. I rang BT myself afterwards to report the scam call and gave them the number these fraudsters used. I reckon BT ought to put a warning about this on their website to protect their customers.

I recently received a phone call from a polite man with an Asian accent. He claimed to be from the BT department, informing me that the cost of my landline would be reduced by £24 starting tomorrow. However, I doubted the authenticity of the call and decided to end it. To prevent further disturbance, I utilized the BT nuisance call block system. After the call, I dialed 1572 and selected option 1 to send that specific number to the Junk bin.

Got a call from a woman who said she was from BT, pushing some "special" deal on a phone package aimed at pensioners. When I asked just one question, she quickly ended the call. It's really upsetting how they target older folks like this with no shame. Honestly, there should be stronger legal action to stop this kind of behaviour.

I was recently approached by a man who seemed to be associated with BT, or at least claimed to be. Surprisingly, he didn't seem bothered when I asked for a phone number to contact him again. Unfortunately, the number he provided turned out to be fake. This person was extremely persuasive and had knowledge of my address, landline number, and even my name. It makes me wonder where he obtained this information from. He was offering me an enticing service from BT - a one-time payment for lifetime call blocking. When I mentioned that I don't have a contract with BT, he insisted that he already knew that. He was quite skilled in bluffing. I must warn others to be cautious! The number he gave me to call back was 00808001600.

I get these calls pretty regularly from a guy with an Indian or Asian accent, sounds like he's calling from abroad. He says there's something wrong with our BT router. As soon as I mention we don’t have BT, he just hangs up. Tried to report it to Action Fraud, but what a nightmare that was! Tried the online form and it wouldn’t go through, then rang the number they give and couldn’t get hold of anyone. Makes me wonder if they’re part of the problem or something.

I tried calling at 7:50 this morning, but there was no answer, so I assumed it was just a mass dialing. As for the gentleman who claims that only his name and phone number can be obtained from BT, there are actually apps that can reveal the name associated with a phone number on someone else's mobile phone, provided they have the same app. I know this because when I gave my mobile phone number to a utility warehouse representative, she used an app to tell me my name.

I got a call from 0183200264 and it seemed to come from somewhere abroad but not properly identified. On my BT Decor 2600 phone, it only showed the number itself, but if you use the older BT Decor 1200 model, it usually says "international" or something similar. Quite confusing really!

I picked up the phone and the person on the other end just dropped the call straight away. Then, about quarter of an hour later, I got a call from a hidden number. The bloke said he was calling from “visa mastercard,” but something didn’t feel right. When I asked how Visa and Mastercard could be the same company, he said they had merged recently. I wasn’t buying it and pressed him a bit more, and he just told me to "bugger off" before slamming the phone down. I reckon that 0183 number is tied to this dodgy scam.

I just don't get why it’s so hard to find out who these people really are. Tracking them down shouldn't be rocket science. Surely the number 0183200264 is connected to some billing details or a rental payment address? Seems like they must have that info somewhere.

I must admit, I was initially mistaken when I came across the script of our Indian colleague. It was so convincing that I genuinely believed it belonged to B.T. However, my curiosity led me to this website where I stumbled upon it. I can't help but wonder where they obtained my information from. It seems highly likely that B.T. has fallen victim to a hacking incident. The reason being, I receive frequent calls from individuals claiming to represent the "telephone preference service" from the United States. It's alarming because the only plausible source for both my name and telephone number would be B.T. themselves!

I tend to avoid taking 'international' calls, but today at 8.30 am I decided to answer since it was my son calling from New Zealand. The person on the other end spoke with an Indian accent and claimed to be in London and from BT. They started talking about call blocking. However, I immediately had doubts about their authenticity. I suspected that this may have been one of those scams that they pretend to help prevent. Upon expressing my concerns, the caller abruptly ended the conversation and hung up.

They identified themselves once more as representatives of BT, and their accent indicated they were from the Indian subcontinent. They seemed aware that I was a BT customer and that I paid by direct debit. Their purpose was to offer me a call blocking service with a single payment. However, when I suggested adding the payment to my bill, things took a turn for the worse. They became slightly aggressive because I refused to disclose any card details. I will definitely be reporting this incident to BT.
