Got another call from what sounded like the same TalkTalk scammers, same accent and everything. They said they could fix problems with my router and then asked to take control of my PC remotely - total phishing attempt to install malware. If you’re worried about your internet speed or errors, just check your router yourself by visiting pcpitstop’s speed test, pick the closest city and wait for the results, all four should be in green. No need to even bother chatting with these fraudsters.

I got a call from someone with an asian accent, and it took ages for them to pick up. When I asked what they wanted, all they said was "your money." So, I just hung up straight away.

Got a call claiming to be from TalkTalk about a problem with my router and that they needed to check my computer. I asked for my account number to be sure, but the bloke rattled off a random string of digits that clearly wasn’t my account number. When I pressed him on it, he just ended the call. I flagged it as a scam straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be TalkTalk tech support, saying they’d fix issues with my router by accessing my PC remotely - total scam, probably trying to install malware. The 'rep' claimed to be from Couper Angus, Scotland, but their accent was clearly Indian, not Scottish at all. If you want to check your own router's security, just google ‘Shields Up’ by Steve Gibson from the US - this guy has scanned millions of routers worldwide and is pretty much a cybersecurity hero.
