A company based in Tamworth recently contacted me regarding a damp inspection. I've come to the realisation that I do indeed have a damp issue, so I agreed to their offer. They've sent over a quote for me to ponder. So far, I'm quite pleased with the service!

I was being pitched some sort of damp-proofing service, but when I firmly declined, they simply cut the call.

Initially, I heard a chap with an Irish lilt, but then, quite bizarrely, it changed to a hushed exchange between two blokes. Before I knew it, one of them was chatting away in an Indian twang, evidently ringing from some dodgy-sounding company!

I haven't a clue who this could be, as they didn't bother to leave a message. Honestly, which UK business would ring without dropping a voicemail? I can't help but think it might just be a machine verifying phone numbers.

Received a call from WeatherDry Insulation Ltd about some so-called "complimentary damp assessment." Total scam artists, if you ask me. I've since put them on my blocked list.

An elderly and frail individual received a telephone call from this number at 11:45 on Friday, 6th March 2020.

The call went straight to my voicemail, and when I listened to the message, it was nothing more than a handful of seconds filled with faint office chatter. It seems like a typical cold call, likely someone attempting to sell me something. Quite disappointing, really, especially considering the Telephone Preference Service!

I received an unexpected call from someone who spoke to me using my proper name, introducing herself as a damp consultant from my area. I informed her that she ought not to be ringing this number since I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and then I swiftly ended the call.

I kindly informed them that I prefer not to engage in business discussions over the phone, and promptly hung up. Honestly, these unsolicited calls are quite bothersome and feel like a real invasion of my privacy.

I received a call where they mentioned my name and then requested my address. Curiosity got the better of me, so I inquired about their identity. However, they claimed they couldn’t disclose that unless I verified my address first. I was quite firm in saying I do not share personal details with complete strangers over the phone. After that, the woman abruptly hung up on me.
