This isn’t some dodgy scam or anything like that. It’s a proper company that actually do damp surveys. They carried out damp proofing and put insulation in my loft, and honestly, the quality of their work was really good.

At first, this bloke was talking with a strong Irish accent, but then suddenly it changed and there were these two chaps whispering between themselves. One of them started speaking with an Indian accent. It seemed like they were calling from some dodgy company or something. Total nonsense!

I picked up the call but it went straight to voicemail, and when I listened back, all I could hear was a bit of background noise that sounded like an office. Looks like another random cold call trying to sell me something. Thought being on the TPS would stop this sort of thing, but clearly not!

Got a call from someone named Paul, who kicked off by saying "no sales pitch, I promise." Then out of the blue, he starts telling me, someone who's been in construction for over 50 years, that my house has damp issues. I tried to tell him, from my decades of experience, that he was wrong, but he just kept cutting me off. I had to raise my voice to get a word in and warn him that if he didn’t stop talking over me, I’d hang up. He still wouldn’t stop, so in the end I just ended the call.

I got a call and they were asking for someone in particular. I told them they had the wrong person, but then they wanted me to confirm the address. I refused and mentioned I was only visiting there, so they hung up pretty sharpish. When the owner got back, we looked up the number and found out it was from a firm pushing a free damp survey. Apparently, they’ve been phoned loads of times by this company, even after saying they weren’t interested. Still, the calls keep coming nonstop.

No idea what that was about, the person just kept going on and on, wouldn’t stop until I said yes to a visit. I found the number using 1471 to try and call back and cancel, but the line was always busy. Guess the call back feature doesn’t work with this number or something. It’s been really annoying and stressful all round. Later on, a guy rang to confirm the appointment, so I told him not to bother coming. Still not sure if he’s going to show up though, so I’m still quite anxious about it.

Got a call from someone called "Sammy" claiming to be from "Weather Insulations." Turns out they're doing some damp inspections nearby today and tomorrow and offered to check around my place. They said they'd pop over with some device, and if it shows damp, they'd give me a quote with a 12 month guarantee. Seems like a classic trick to me - that little gadget they carry is probably just a cheap bit of kit that always flags damp, even if nothing's wrong.

Got a call around 10.15 this morning from someone claiming I was entitled to a "free damp inspection" usually worth £380. They said if any repairs were needed, they’d pop back with a quote. Pretty sure they’re hoping to find something just to make a sale. I told them twice I wasn’t interested before they just cut me off without a word of thanks or goodbye. Proper annoyance.

The call came from this number but when I answered, no one spoke and they left no voicemail, so I’m not really sure how to label them - I went with Harassing anyway. What I don’t get is if it’s clear where these calls come from, why don’t the authorities step in and put a stop to them? It’s baffling.

So this lady called me, seemed alright initially, said her firm (name completely slipped my mind) would be nearby in South Derbyshire the next day doing free damp inspections since the area apparently has a lot of problems. I kept telling her I already know about the damp issues and we're sorting it out ourselves. I even joked that if anyone showed up to check, they’d probably end up falling through the floor! After a while, she finally got fed up and just snapped at me before hanging up.

I told her I wasn't interested right away and she got quite sharp saying she hadn’t even asked anything. I told her since I hadn’t asked for the call, she didn’t need to be so impolite, and if I needed help I could easily contact someone on my own. After that I ended the call and blocked the number.
