I got a call from someone claiming to be Octopus Energy saying I had to pay a safety deposit because of my credit rating. At first, I didn’t realise it was dodgy but then I looked up the number online. They kept insisting on the deposit, which felt odd as we’ve never been asked for anything like that before. They even knew stuff like our electric meter details and when our contract ends, which was kinda creepy. Proper worrying experience.

They kept calling even after I said no, super annoying! They said they were from British Gas but it felt dodgy. Over the last few days, they phoned me about 10 times and the last three calls, they just put me on hold like that was gonna make me answer. Tried blocking the number but somehow they still got through. Honestly, quite creepy and stressy!
