They keep ringing up asking for Mr Patterson, but last week it was actually Sarah Begood who answered.

This number called me earlier, but I wasn’t sure who it was so I let my answerphone take it. The guy just said “Hello” a few times then hung up, either he couldn’t hear the machine or didn’t get how it works. Anyone who doesn’t leave a message seems a bit dodgy to me, so I looked it up here. I’ve heard that some online or business numbers can be made to look like legit UK landlines just to cause confusion. Could be nothing, but if it was something important, I’d expect them to leave a message, right?

Just received a call asking for my name. I told the person I’m on the TPS and that they need to take me off their calling list because we’re not supposed to get these calls. Then he asked if I had a computer, and I told him again that he shouldn’t be ringing this number. He wanted to know where I was, so I said I was at home and ended the call. Funny thing is, the phone number looked legit, with an Uckfield area code.

Got a call from someone who said folks were messing with my computer, somehow knew my name and asked if it was me on the line. Tried calling back that number and it just says number unavailable. Pretty clear the caller ID was fake. Really makes you wonder if the phone companies should step in and sort this nonsense out!

This bloke calling himself Vincent claimed to be from Microsoft, saying there was a problem with my computer. I just told him to jog on, sounded like a total scammer to me.

Somebody rang me claiming to be from a tech support team, asking for Mr (my first name), saying my computer had a virus that pops up every time I turn it on. I told them I’m not Mr ?, then they asked if I was related to him. I said there’s no one with that name at this address or number and mentioned it sounded like a scam. She said a scammer wouldn’t call me directly... Honestly, she needs some proper training! I’ve since blocked the number.
