I didn't bother leaving a message in the end.

I received a call from some woman with an Asian accent trying to convince me that there was a problem with my computer. Being an IT consultant myself, I’m well acquainted with these charlatans fishing for unsuspecting victims. I decided to play along for a short spell, leading her on for roughly five minutes as if I was buying into her nonsense. When I asked her to verify some account details and names, she threw out this ridiculous excuse about not being able to confirm such information over the phone. I called her out, telling her it was all a load of rubbish, just as she hung up on me. Typical!

Around an hour ago, I received a rather unsettling phone call from this number. A lady with a pronounced Indian accent informed me that something was being downloaded onto my computer without my awareness, and urged me to go check it. I didn’t stick around for any more of that nonsense and hung up immediately. It's worth noting that I'm ex-directory, yet she still managed to get my name spot on... how bizarre!

I recently received a call from this number, clearly originating from India or a similarly distant locale, inquiring about a Mrs. Marshall, which is certainly not my name. They also wanted to know if I was a homeowner, to which I replied in the affirmative, but refrained from disclosing my name. When I pressed for his identity, he claimed to be Oscar… Really? With that accent? I highly doubt it! He purported to be calling regarding my computer, and as soon as I caught wind of that, I promptly ended the call! Don’t be taken in; it’s nothing but a scam designed to fleece you of your money! These individuals are the absolute worst. I’m baffled as to how they even obtained my phone number, considering I’m ex-directory…?

Received a rather odd call from this number, where the caller inquired using a name that wasn't mine. I decided to probe a bit further and asked if they had indeed dialled my number and whether I was the principal user of the computer in question. The chap then requested that I power up my computer, which I chose not to do. Instead, I placed him on hold for a good three minutes, but it seems he couldn't stick around and eventually hung up. Quite the peculiar experience!

I received a rather unexpected call from someone with an unfamiliar accent, claiming he needed to discuss an urgent issue concerning my computer and a Windows update. His manner was quite curt, and when I inquired about which of my devices he was referring to, he seemed to fumble with his response. I pressed him on how he acquired my number, especially since I’ve registered on a list meant to protect me from telemarketers. To my surprise, he abruptly hung up on me. It feels as though I'm bombarded by at least three of these nuisance calls daily!

The phone starts ringing, you answer and greet them with a 'hello', but there's nothing but silence on the other end before they swiftly disconnect. Utterly infuriating!

Just encountered yet another telemarketer who got thwarted by my answering machine-didn’t bother to leave a message, of course. What a bother!

I picked up the call from this number and found myself chatting to an individual who insisted that my computer had been unknowingly downloading data, resulting in it lagging far more than it ought to. He was quite insistent, and when I expressed my desire to disengage from the conversation, he attempted to raise his voice, claiming that I wasn’t grasping the severity of the situation. At that point, I simply ended the call.
