I listed my cousin’s car for sale on Gumtree and put my number on the ad. Within five minutes, I got calls from about seven different numbers, all from a different town. They kept telling me I’d been in some kind of accident. When I told them I didn’t even own a car, they suggested maybe I was involved as a passenger. When I denied that too, they started asking if anyone in my family might have had an accident. Really suspicious and annoying!

I got one of those automated calls about some accident I supposedly had! Completely caught me off guard, I wasn’t sure if it was a scam or real at first. Really unsettling how these things just pop up out of nowhere.
