I’ve been receiving calls from individuals claiming to represent a Consumer Protection Agency, and they’re attempting to extract personal information from me. Quite concerning, to say the least!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from SKY Insurance, trying to sell me insurance for my TV and stuff, saying it costs about £90 or £100 a year. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.

Today I got a call from some guy named Victor, said he was from Sky Insurance Maintenance or something. I didn’t even bother to answer, just cut the call straight away. This feels exactly like those dodgy scams, my late Father-in-Law fell for the same sort of trick years ago. No way I'm giving out any info or cash to these sneaky people. They really should be locked up and maybe sent somewhere far away to teach them some manners!

Got a call from someone with an Indian or Pakistani accent claiming to be from Sky maintenance, but it was clearly spam. When I told them they were through to a doctor's surgery and asked if they needed a doctor, they just hung up! πŸ˜‚

I got a call from someone saying they were calling about my breakdown cover. They asked what colour my remote was, but I told them my dog had already chewed it to pieces. I also said my system’s been acting up for a couple of weeks. After that, they just hung up on me. Watch out for these scammers! Cheers, John from Sheffield.

Had a call earlier from a guy named 'Oliver', claiming to be from Sky. His accent was really thick and his English was all over the place. He said I had to renew some insurance for my Sky gear, supposedly a 3-year deal I made last year. Thing is, if I’d done that, why would I need to renew it already? Even told him I don’t even have Sky! Then, right after that, he just hung up on me. Bit of a shame, I wanted to mess with him a bit more πŸ˜‚.

Got a call earlier today from someone claiming to be from Sky’s maintenance team. I immediately said “yeah, no you’re not” and hung up. Makes me think, how many folks actually fall for these sorts of calls?

On 15th December 2023, I got a call from someone claiming I had to renew a maintenance plan on my TV, or else I'd break the contract and they'd take £79.99 from my account. I never even signed up for anything like that. He said it was a legal obligation to renew, which sounded rubbish to me, so I just ended the call. He tried ringing me a couple more times, but I didn’t bother answering.

This morning, I got a call claiming it was the final day to renew my contract, and they said they'd sent letters about it. The bloke was really pushy when I kept refusing to pay. I ended the call, but he called back almost straight away. He pressured me again to settle the payment, so I asked for a manager. Shortly after, a ‘line manager’ came on and kept insisting I had to pay right then. I told him I wasn’t sharing my bank info, but he just kept pushing. In the end, he just hung up on me...

I wasn’t around the house today when this number rang me up. Even though my voicemail is set up, they didn’t leave any message. After seeing what others have said about calls from this number, I’m ready if they bother me again. Especially if they claim to be from Sky, cos I don’t actually have any Sky services with them.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from Sky, saying it was about a maintenance fee of £11.99 every year. I told him I don’t even have Sky. Then he started insisting I’d already paid last year and that this payment was overdue. He asked if I had any other stuff like broadband or anything, I said no. Then he tried asking if I wanted to cancel my “contract.” I was like, how can I cancel something I never had? He just hung up on me, haha. Good riddance, scammer!

When I answered, there was a bit of a lag before the call went through, sounded like a call centre abroad. The guy on the line spoke with an Indian accent. He said something about our TV service, maybe some maintenance package from Sky? He kept asking if we’d experienced any problems or issues with the TV recently. It was pretty obvious spam, so I just left the phone hanging up. Not sure if it’s harmful, but definitely feels like a phishing attempt. So yeah, I’d say it’s a no-go. Kiron, Liverpool.

I got three calls back to back and didn’t pick up, so I went ahead and blocked the number since it seemed dodgy. Then, about an hour later, I noticed a missed call from another number, 01758471007, which I looked up and found out it’s linked to solar panel scam calls too. Looks like when the first number didn’t work, they tried again from somewhere else. Definitely looks like a scam, so watch out!
