Got a call earlier today and when I asked what it was for, the bloke just hung up on me. Then he rang me again, but this time from a different phone and my number was hidden. When I picked up, all I got was an answerphone with some American accent talking. This number seems to be linked to somewhere near Taunton in Somerset.

I just got a call from this number saying they’d been told by my car insurer that I was possibly in an accident. When I asked which insurer, she refused to say, blaming 'data protection'. Then, when I pointed out that the call itself raised data protection concerns, she asked for my info so she could remove me from their list. I told her that she shouldn't be contacting me anyway, as there are strict rules about this, and then she abruptly hung up. Definitely sounds like a call centre to me.
