I rarely pick up unknown calls but this time I did, and a voice claimed there was a charge of over £1000 on my credit card. They asked me to press a bunch of numbers to verify it. I obviously didn’t do that, but I did double check my card just to be safe. Everything was fine, so now I’m just blocking the number - though that doesn't always stop them from calling again.

Got a call claiming my National Insurance number was involved in some dodgy business. Definitely a scam trying to catch you out.
