Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT about my internet being slow. The guy had a foreign accent and sounded quite legit since my broadband has been really sluggish lately. Still, something felt off, so I told him I’d ring BT myself to check things out. I dialled 1471 to get the number and tried calling back but it just went to voicemail. Maybe they’re working remotely because of the pandemic? Not sure, but I’m not risking it and will ring BT directly later on.

Somebody rang saying they were from Amazon and that I’d apparently bought something for nearly £400, and it’d be sent out the next day. They told me to press 1 if I hadn’t made the order to talk to Amazon’s support team.

Just got a call warning me my National Insurance Number was being cancelled - total scam, watch out! The only way your NI number gets cancelled is if there’s some issue flagged by the DWP or an official government service. Don’t fall for these threats.
