Lately I’ve had a few calls from 01823 322563 claiming to be from BT about some dodgy activity on my internet account, threatening to shut down my service. The first call was just an automated message, so I hung up straightaway. Then a woman with an Indian accent rang, saying exactly the same thing. I told her I’m not even a BT customer, but she insisted BT is the ‘parent company’ for all providers. I rang BT directly, and they told me it’s a total scam and to report it to my phone network. Turns out BT isn’t any sort of ‘parent company’ at all. Be careful, this sounds dodgy.
