I received a rather unwelcome call from someone claiming to be representing Vodafone, attempting to peddle their broadband packages. It was quite irritating and excessively forceful, I must say!

Had the same thing happen, they called from a number with my local area code which really made me panic thinking it was an elderly relative of mine. It’s just frustrating really. I told them the name on the account isn’t who actually uses the phone, but they didn’t get it, so I just ended the call and got on with things.

I just ended up blocking a sales call, too many of those annoying telemarketers these days!

So it turns out it’s definitely Vodafone pushing broadband really hard. What annoyed me most was that they were calling from a number with my local area code, like they were someone I might actually know. I ended up blocking them. The bloke on the phone was quite pushy, saying I was ‘obliged’ to stay on the call and hear about their deals, which is just nonsense. I made it clear I didn’t want any more calls, blocked the number, and have let Vodafone know exactly how I feel about it.

I reckon this number is from Vodafone, probably trying to push some stuff. What worries me is that they seem to be using local area codes instead of making it obvious it’s a call centre. Isn’t that against the rules or something?
