Phone number ☎️ 01822600251 👆 is reported as a suspicious number linked to energy-related scams in the 01822 area, despite no official numbers starting with those digits there. Callers often pretend to be from local energy companies, use poor quality mobile lines and hastily end calls when questioned about their identity or how they got your number. Names like "Sam" and "Tom" have been mentioned, and they may ignore requests to stop calling or to comply with Telephone Preference Service rules. The calls usually involve questions about property ownership or recent insulation work before cutting out abruptly. Many users suspect this is linked to recent government announcements on energy and believe it might be a "Yes" scam designed to trick people into agreeing to something they don’t intend.

6 yearsJust to clarify, 01822 numbers don’t start with 600 at all. I received a call from someone claiming to be from my local energy provider, but the connection was awful and kept breaking up, sounding more like a mobile. The bloke spoke with a London accent. He asked if I was the property’s current owner, and although I was unsure, I said yes. When I then asked how he had my number, he suddenly hung up. This happened at around 4:03pm on the 30th of September 2020. Now I’m worried it might be one of those sneaky ‘Yes’ scam calls.London6 yearsI got a call from this bloke named Sam, and he just wouldn't listen when I told him cold calling people on the Telephone Preference Service is illegal. Also, kept getting missed calls from 01822600251. Pretty sure it’s some kind of eco scam, probably cos of that government statement that came out today about these things. 30/09/2020Sam6 yearsThe caller mentioned something about energy and checked if I was the homeowner. When I asked for their name, they just hung up on me.6 yearsGot a call from some bloke claiming to be Tom, talking about insulation and loft lagging we supposedly had done. I told him I don’t think that’s right, and just like that, he hung up on me. The number was 01822600251.TomSubmit Your Own Report (01822 600251)
