Just a heads up, the 0181 code hasn’t been active for nearly 18 years since the big UK phone numbering update. So if you get calls from it, they’re obviously dodgy. I’ve had three calls this week alone - two yesterday and one today. Luckily, my call blocker caught them all and now I’ve set it up so anything starting with 0181 gets blocked straight away.

I told them to take my number off their list and never ring me again after the first call. But since then, they’ve called me at least three times more. It really seems like they’re purposely bothering me.

I got a call from a woman yesterday asking about my TV brand, rattling off names like Samsung, Toshiba, Sanyo and others. I told her I had an Argos TV and then suddenly a bloke joined the call, shouting and hurling loads of swear words at me. Total idiots. He was going on and on, so I just started singing the song “Relax” to him, might’ve thrown him off a bit!

There was a bit of quiet at first, then a lady started talking but I really couldn’t catch what she was saying. I just mentioned something about my phone preferences and ended the call. Pretty sure she called me by my name too.

Been getting calls from scammers pretending to be from 0181. That code’s actually not used anymore since they stopped it back in 2000. So it’s clearly just fake numbers trying to trick people.

Got a pesky phone call with loads of noise like a call centre going on in the background. It took ages for someone to say anything, then this lady with an Asian accent asked if I was Mr ___. I just told her she probably didn’t wanna talk to him and hung up straight away. Blocked the number too.

Answered the call, there was a brief pause, then a woman started speaking really fast in a language I didn't recognise, followed by nothing. I just ended up blocking the number.
