I had a rather suspicious phone call today from a chap sporting a foreign accent. He introduced himself as being from our bank's security department, insisting that there had been some dodgy activity on my credit card. While he came across as articulate and rather polished, I couldn't shake the feeling that this might be a con!

Got a proper posh-sounding message claiming to be from the Security Service, saying someone’s been using my card two times this morning. I looked up the number a couple of times and got two completely different businesses pop up each time. Had a quick check on my bank accounts and nothing dodgy showed. Definitely a scam in my book. I can see how folk who don’t know about these scams might get all panicky from a call like that. I’ve told my phone provider about the number and blocked it now.
