I received a rather peculiar phone call from a woman the other day. She insisted on verifying whether I was the owner of my property and inquired about the age of my boiler. Apparently, she needed this information to send some details my way, claiming it was merely a routine verification. Then, she rather oddly asked me for the postcode of my bank, despite not even knowing which bank I was referring to. When I told her I didn’t have a clue what my bank’s postcode was, she suggested I fetch my chequebook to check. I firmly refused and expressed my suspicion that this was a scam before hanging up. I have a strong feeling I was targeted by a scammer!
