I received a phone call at my elderly mother's house and the person on the line introduced himself as Kevin with an Asian accent. He requested me to turn on the computer, even though my mother didn't own one. I inquired about the reason behind this and was informed that there were internet issues. When I asked about his employer, he claimed to work for Microsoft. However, I expressed my disbelief and he responded by calling me an offensive name. In a polite manner, I suggested that his customer service training needed improvement and he should receive additional training. Once again, he resorted to using derogatory language towards me. I laughed at his response and he ended the call abruptly. Due to my mother's mild Alzheimer's and prior experiences with such scams, I decided to take away her computer. Now she understands that these requests are scams. She now uses an iPad, which suits her needs and has prevented her from falling into the trap of giving up her card details.

Got a call from 01803 839688 while I wasn’t home, my call blocker stopped it; no voicemail was left. I looked up this site and really appreciate all the useful reviews. Seems like a scam pretending to be from Microsoft, so I’ve blocked the number. Planning to report it on the Action Fraud site too.

My elderly parents frequently inform me about the frequent phone calls they receive from individuals claiming to fix their computer, despite the fact that they don't own one. Today, I happened to answer one of these calls and it was a man who claimed to be from Microsoft, insisting that there was an issue with my computer. I immediately informed him that we don't have a computer, indicating my suspicion of his fraudulent intent. However, he persisted with his conversation. Strangely, towards the end of the call, he threatened to block my computer access to Microsoft simply because I had called him a liar, despite me reiterating multiple times that we do not possess a computer. It was rather disconcerting how impolite and unapologetic he was. I can only imagine how persistent and persuasive he could be if he were to call someone who actually owned a computer.

Just got a call sayin my laptop would get blocked if I didn’t turn it on straight away. I knew it was a scam right away but I hung on the line to waste his time so he couldn’t bother anyone else. Does anyone know who to tell about this? We should stop these dodgy calls before it gets worse!

This number has rung me three times in the past day. Twice there was just silence, and one call came through sharp at 7.30 this morning. A lady with an Asian accent was talking about something to do with Microsoft. When I asked if she was aware of the time, she said yes, it was 7.30. The thing is, I sometimes get calls like these and only yesterday, I gave my number to a popular washing machine company because my washer stopped working. Within a few hours, this number called me. Really hope they havent shared my details with anyone else.

Pretending to be 'Microsoft' and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I work in IT, so I could tell he was full of rubbish, but I reckon someone less clued up might’ve fallen for it since he was really slick with dodging questions and sounded dead sure of himself. Annoyed with myself for letting him rile me up that much first thing on a Saturday.

I have been receiving continuous phone calls from this particular number. It is worth mentioning that I have already registered with the telephone preferences service. If this caller persists in contacting me, I will not hesitate to report their unacceptable behavior.

Some bloke rang claiming he was a Microsoft tech, asked if I owned the computer at my place. I told him I don't have one, and he just called me a liar and threatened to block my access. The truth is, I don't have a desktop, but I do have a laptop. So to all these foreign callers, just a heads up - I don’t answer any questions about household gadgets. If something goes wrong at home, I sort it out with the right person myself.

Got called back to back 5 times in just one day. Managed to get BT on the line when we answered at 8 in the morning, and some calls had foreign country codes, even one from Brazil! Lucky we weren’t home before 8 am today. When we did pick up, there was no one on the other end.

Got a call this morning at about 7.20 from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from Microsoft. He told me someone was breaking into my computer and using my ID to access gambling sites. When I asked for his number to call back, he refused to give it. He ended the call and I looked up the number - total SCAM!

01803839688 Got a call from an Asian sounding bloke saying he was from Microsoft. When I told him he shouldn’t be phoning me, he got really rude and kept telling me to F off. He only ended the call after I mentioned I was recording everything. It’s ridiculous we have to put up with this kind of behaviour.

I recently engaged in a playful telephone conversation with an individual named Jack, who happens to be of Asian descent. I managed to keep him on the line for nearly 15 minutes, purely for the purpose of teasing and joking around. It was all in good fun, as I believe in treating others as they treat me. Interestingly, when Jack inquired about my name, I mischievously claimed to be Bill Gates, which completely bewildered him. In response to my playful jest, he lashed out by using offensive language and then abruptly ended the call!

Got a call from this number on my landline earlier, but no one spoke and they just hung up after a couple seconds. Seems dodgy, probably one of those scam calls or maybe those pesky ones where they’re testing if someone’s in so they can try to break in later.

0180383839688. These lot are getting smarter. Someone called, said his name was Bryan or Ryan, sounded Indian. I asked where he was calling from and he claimed Microsoft Thames Valley Reading, which is an actual place. I asked about the building and he said he was a trainee living on campus. I mentioned the nearby David Lloyd gym and he said he used their own gym instead. Everything sounded pretty believable until he tried to get me to run something in the computer CMD, then I ended the call. MICROSOFT - seriously, don’t you need to do something about these people??

I use BT Callblocker and it shows this number tried to call me but got diverted. I hadn’t personally blacklisted it before, so maybe it’s part of a wider BT blacklist starting to work. Not sure if these blocked numbers end up on some kind of national police list though. After seeing these comments, I’ll go ahead and blacklist it myself now.

Typical annoying calls from these numbers. First, I got a call from 01398524762 saying "your BT line will be cut off in 5 days" with some bloke shouting nonsense. I hung up straight away. Then the number above called, but no one said a word. Feels like they’re all part of the same scam gang. Seriously, phone companies need to do something about this instead of making us deal with it or sign up for do-not-call lists. We don’t want these spam calls, we pay for our phone lines and expect proper protection! Come on phone companies, get your act together!

I got a call from a woman with an obvious Indian accent who said her name was "Hazel." She claimed she was calling from Reading and said there was a problem with my Microsoft license that I needed to sort out. When I asked for a callback number, she gave me 01183282297. But when I checked with the 1471 service, the number showing up was 01803839688. It's such a shame they use people like this to pull off these scams!!

Got another call just now, they said they’re from Microsoft and my PC has issues. Honestly, the only thing that’s messed up is me having to deal with these lot! Why won’t BT do anything about it? They’re basically letting these scammers use their network. It’s obvious from the start that these callers aren’t legit. Even after he denied it, I told him straight up he was a "Nasty bloke" and that his mum wouldn’t be proud of him bothering people like this. I didn't hold back with the insults either!

They've called me twice now, saying there's a problem with my computer and that I should let them in to fix it. Luckily, I’m aware it’s a scam, so I just keep them on the line for as long as I can to hopefully stop them tricking others. When I tell the guy I don’t even own a computer, he gets really annoyed and starts arguing. I just tell him he should quit scamming people and find a proper job. After that, he complains and calls me names before hanging up.

Got a call at 08:49 this morning. Not impressed at all. Answered the phone but the voicemail started mid-call and then they just hung up. If this is the “fake Microsoft” scam everyone’s talking about, surely the actual Microsoft could step in and sort it out. Feels like no one else has the power to stop these scammers ruining things for ordinary people, especially those who might be a bit more trusting.

Today, my phone received a call from an unknown number and went directly to voicemail. Surprisingly, no message was left by the caller. In an attempt to identify the individual behind the call, I dialed 1471 and discovered that it was indeed this particular number. I conducted a thorough search only to find out that it belonged to a known scammer. Swiftly, I took appropriate measures and blocked the number to safeguard against any further fraudulent activity.

I'm constantly receiving calls from this number and various others, which is incredibly bothersome. I do hope more people are becoming aware of these fraudulent schemes. It's quite satisfying to inform them that we are not fooled by their tricks. The reactions from these callers have ranged from "outrageous!" to spiteful remarks like "fine, then lose your connection!" 😉

Just got a call out of nowhere at 1:35pm on Saturday, 25th November. Some guy with a strange accent asked if I had a computer at home, said it was his first time calling me. The number showed up on my phone as "International 01803 839688". It came up as an incoming "International" call on my display. Not recognising it, I let the answerphone pick it up. The caller talked to the machine in this odd "foreigner doing cockney" accent, kept saying "hello Mr @@@", using my name but obviously got no response. He didn’t seem to realise it was an answerphone and eventually gave up and hung up. This call has now come through THREE times! The number’s definitely been BLOCKED now!

It’s like free therapy where you just shout your frustrations out loud and it’s totally on the house. Just a few minutes of cursing and I’m buzzing all day, knowing I’ve probably thrown a spanner in the works for some scammer’s day at their boring job.

They did the same thing, just ended the call abruptly.

They keep calling non-stop, barging in from the crack of dawn until about 4pm, insisting that we own a computer and even claiming to possess evidence suggesting that someone is attempting to hack into our account. I'm at work and my husband simply advises them to call back when I am home, but they never follow through on it.

I received a call from a person with an Asian-sounding accent, whom I believe introduced himself as Michael. He claimed to be investigating an issue with my computer and was adamant that, according to Microsoft's records, there was a computer registered at my address. However, it is important to note that no such computer exists at this specific address!

I received two phone calls today from a gentleman with a strong Indian accent who identified himself as a representative from Windows. He claimed to be contacting me regarding a computer that I do not own. It was quite clear that this was an attempt to scam and obtain my banking information. As a precaution, I have now blocked the number.

Got a call from some bloke saying my dad's PC had a virus and was uploading inappropriate stuff online. I messsed with him for about 8 minutes and actually recorded the whole thing. Towards the end, they started cursing me heavily. Proper dodgy lot. Like someone mentioned before, if you fancy wasting their time, go for it, otherwise just ignore and hang up.

Got a call at half past eight while I was still in bed. The woman said her name was Alina and claimed she couldn’t send me an email since Microsoft supposedly already had proof my computer was compromised. She was quite polite and convincing, pushing me to share my computer details straight away - but I’d need to be at my machine. The number looked like it was from Torquay. Do you reckon Microsoft have an office there or something?

Does anyone know if there’s a way to report this? Getting sales calls is annoying enough, but pretending to be from Microsoft and trying to scam people is something way more serious and should be dealt with by the authorities.

Got a call like this the other day. Usually, these sorts of calls come from abroad. However, since this one was from a Torquay number that's pretty easy to track, I reckon the police and BT ought to look into it.

Some bloke calling himself 'Robin' claimed to be from Microsoft, saying my PC's ID was compromised. When I asked for a call-back number, he just told me to turn on the computer and do some quick fixes he’d guide me through. The dodgy connection, his thick Asian accent, and the ridiculous name 'Robin' (like it was some kind of joke) made me quite wary.

Today I got a call from a guy saying he was from Microsoft, telling me to log into my computer. I played along for a bit, then just laughed and told him he must be daft if he thinks I’m falling for that. This isn’t the first time they've called me, and last times they’ve got really rude once they see you’re not buying it. How on earth do they keep getting people’s numbers, and when will this ever be put to an end?

Received a phone call at 7.40 am this morning from an unfamiliar number. A lady with a foreign accent claimed to be from technical support. When I inquired about the reason for calling at such an early hour, she simply responded with "I don't understand." I firmly warned her that if she were to call again, I would report it as harassment, and promptly ended the call.

Loads of fraudsters pretending they're from Microsoft. They’re ringing from some call centre in India, trying to con people. NEVER hand over your personal details or visit the website they tell you about - they'll infect your PC with malware and nick all your info. However, if you fancy having a laugh and wasting their time while they try to scam others, mess with them a bit. If you’ve got a moment, watch this - you’ll enjoy seeing them get trolled. Absolutely cracking stuff. Check out Ownage pranks with these scam calls [#]youtu.be/c4HKOWG2oEA

This number has rung me up three times already, each time pretending to be from Microsoft. Luckily, my cousin works at Microsoft and told me they don’t call or email people out of the blue. The bloke on the phone had an Indian accent and got quite annoyed when I said I just own an old Atari 2600 from the 70s. After that, he started swearing at me. I just laughed it off, told him he was rubbish and a disgrace, then ended the call.

This number has called me a couple of times, both times really early before 8 in the morning, so you automatically worry it’s something urgent with family and grab the phone straight away; not what I need when I’m rushing to get ready for work and sort the kids for school. I haven't picked up since I don’t know the number but it’s super irritating.

Had this bloke ring me again today, sounded Asian, using the phone book or something coz he called me Mr xxxx, which is actually my partner’s surname. Now he’s threatening to fine me for not playing ball, thinks I’m running Windows PC still haha, and says he’s sending people to smash me door down!! Proper scary stuff since he knows the start of my address or summat. If it wasn’t that daft, I’d seriously think about moving.

01803839688 Just got a call from this number at lunchtime. I’m living in Northern Ireland and my BT phone showed it as an "international" call. I’m a pensioner but luckily still sharp! At 7.38 in the morning, I got a call from 01803 839688. I was already worried about my elderly mother and father-in-law, so with a dodgy ankle, I scrambled to answer the phone, fearing the worst. When I finally picked up, there was just silence for several seconds before the call abruptly ended. I tried ringing the number back, but no one picked up. It’s so frustrating! Now, my ankle’s hurting worse from the rush, and I’ve had to take more painkillers because of it. Is there any way to block these nuisance callers?
