When I asked why they didn’t already have my information, they first said they weren’t actually with the company, then said I must have agreed to get calls like this. I definitely never said yes to that! This seems like a classic cold call, maybe even a scam.

I got a call where the person already knew my name and started talking about some updates to my life insurance. They asked for my date of birth and if I'd had any health issues over the past decade. Then they wanted to know how much I’d been paying, saying they’d ring me again on Monday. After I ended the call, I decided to phone the number back, and it was actually picked up by a company called Protection People who said not to stress, they’d get in touch again. That’s when it hit me - this was definitely a scam.

got a call from these lot earlier, no idea who they were talking about at first. answered a few questions, then they wanted to send me stuff through the post. said they’d ring back in 20 minutes, still no call. just so they know, i’ve reported them to the cops, ombudsman, trading standards and all that. absolute mug’s game these con artists are. what a load of rubbish!

Yeah, defo a scam, not sure how they managed to get hold of my number. They claimed my life expectancy was shorter now so I could get a discount on my monthly premium. Then they began asking about any changes in my situation since I got my life insurance. I just kept asking when I actually took the policy out, then asked about when I got my mortgage. I don’t even have a mortgage! Then they just hung up. Best thing is to act clueless and not give away any details they might use to sell on.
