12 yearsOn the 22nd December 2014 at about 6:06pm, I got a call from a lady with a strong Liverpool accent. She asked for me by name and mentioned an accident where another vehicle had hit me. She said she wanted to get my feedback about it. I’m ex-directory, so I was suspicious and told her she could be anyone, refusing to share any details. Her tone turned quite irritated when I pointed out that any issues like that would be handled by my solicitor and insurance folks. She said her company name was something like Albany or Alvany, I’m not sure. When I asked where she had gotten my number, she said it came from the other driver involved. I then requested she delete my number from her records and never call me again. As I hung up, there was a strange screeching noise on the line. A lady with a scouse accent asked for my wife by name. She wasn’t home so I answered instead. The woman said it was about a recent car accident my wife had, which is complete nonsense because there hasn’t been any. She mentioned 'they' could handle the situation. I asked if my wife had arranged for her to call, but she replied “No, someone else asked me to get in touch.” I then told her I suspected it was just another annoying cold call and ended the conversation.
