12 yearsI received a phone call at 18:06 on the 22nd of December 2014. Particularly noteworthy, I am ex-directory. The caller, a woman with a distinctive Liverpudlian accent, was inquiring about an incident involving a vehicle crashing into me. She claimed to be seeking my thoughts on the experience I endured. I was hesitant, noting her could be anyone, and thus declined to divulge any information. Her tone shifted noticeably, becoming rather irate, once I explained that matters of this nature should be directed through solicitors and insurance representatives. She mentioned a company name resembling Albany or possibly Alvany. When I probed further about how she acquired my number, she stated it was provided by the other party involved. I insisted she delete my details from her records and refrain from further contact. As I hung up, I was met with what could only be described as a screech on the line - a rather peculiar experience, to say the least.AlbanyAlvany12 yearsReceived a call on our landline at 15:27 on the 25th of November 2014. Since the number appeared to be local, I decided to pick it up. Our details aren’t listed in the BT directory, mind you. A woman with a distinctive Liverpudlian accent asked for my wife by name, but she was out at the time. I mentioned I was her husband, and she insisted I might be able to assist, claiming it was regarding a recent car accident (which, by the way, hasn’t happened). She mentioned that “they” could handle the matter. Curious, I inquired whether my wife had requested this call, to which she replied, “No, a third party has prompted me to reach out.” At that point, I came to the conclusion that this was just another dodgy solicitation and promptly hung up.
