My elderly mum got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from Virgin Media. She tried to convince me to install an app so a 'technician' could remotely access my iPhone by guiding me over the phone. It felt dodgy when she couldn’t tell me my mum’s account number, so I said I’d hang up and call Virgin Mobile myself. I looked up the number after and sure enough, it was a scam. Absolute scumbags!! 😑

Total rip off.

Didn’t answer since I hadn’t asked for the call, just another cold caller trying their luck.

It took ages for the call to finally go through, then this bloke with a thick Indian accent said an English name and told me he was from BT Internet. He reckoned my internet had been hacked. He sounded pretty pushy, and whenever I asked some simple questions to check him, he got even more hostile. When I asked him to give me the IP address that was supposedly causing trouble, he couldn’t come up with anything sensible.

Got a call asking if I was the person paying for the internet bill. I told them I wasn’t, and they wanted to chat with whoever does pay it. I said that person wasn’t around right then, so they said they’d ring back later.

I got a call from one of those scammy places with an auto dialler. After a short silence, a woman with a strong accent, sounded kind of Asian, said she was from Virgin Media. She asked how I was and then started talking about possible internet problems nearby, asking if I'd noticed slow speeds or buffering. When I asked her for my postcode, she just ended the call. Definitely felt dodgy to me.
