It seems they're attempting to take charge of your computer to install a programme aimed at 'cleaning' your hard drive. What’s alarming is that they can achieve this even through Wi-Fi! The company in question is called ONE SUPPORT, which is an American firm specialising in PC maintenance, and they’re likely to hit you with a fee for their services. Interestingly, this number appears to be linked to another one, 01869810478, which rings you first before transferring your call to 01799516372 at a later stage. Quite the dodgy operation, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number earlier. A chap with a noticeable Indian accent claimed that my laptop was rife with viruses, and that it was causing issues for many computers in the vicinity, even impacting emergency services like 999.
I found it rather unbelievable; if it were true, surely the police would have intervened or my broadband provider would have suspended my service to sort it out.
