He had an asian accent and told me to check my computer for stuff - I asked if he was connected to all the other scammers who call us, and he swore he was legit. I just told him 'you're a proper fake'. Wish these jokers would just disappear, such timewasters.

I’ve got a BT phone that stops all these annoying calls, but I still have a look now and then to see who’s been ringing. I’d suggest anyone to grab a BT 8600 model. I don’t get any pest calls at all now.

Some bloke pretending to be a Microsoft expert kept trying to hack into my laptop and con me. I played along for a bit then told him the laptop was off. He didn’t take it well and began cursing. I said if he chilled out, I might actually help him, but he reckoned I was having a laugh, which I admitted I was.

Received a call from this number around 07:50. It was a chap with a terrible American accent claiming to be from the cyber crime unit. He insisted I jump on my computer to avert some alleged fraud and identity crisis. Well, let’s just say I gave him a piece of my mind! Absolute nonsense - a pathetic scam if ever I heard one, pretending to be from the cyber crime unit, no less! 😂😂😂😂

Got a really suspicious call from 01799 500619 early morning on the 15th of Jan, around 07:59. The bloke claimed he was from 'Microsoft' and that I’d signed up with them. I asked him where he found my number and the company’s name. He got a bit annoyed, saying Microsoft wouldn’t ring unless I’d registered with them. I kept interrupting and asking who he really was, and after the fourth time, he just hung up.

Just got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft, telling me my ID was hacked. When I asked where he got my number from, he said it was on the Microsoft database. I told him I use Linux on all my devices (mostly Ubuntu), so I couldn't be on that database. He insisted I must have a Windows PC. I got a call earlier from a chap claiming to represent Microsoft. He went on about how my computer was supposedly spewing out harmful files. I promptly informed him that I don’t even possess a computer. These are nothing but con artists aiming to swindle you - if you entertain their chatter, they'll have you believing your machine is on the brink of collapse. They'll then propose some elaborate fix, all for a hefty sum of a few hundred quid. A mate of mine was taken in by their ruse and ended up £300 worse off. Best to cut off the conversation straight away. Just hang up!

Got a call from some Indian bloke claiming to be from Microsoft. Every time he began with "Hello, I'm Gupta from...", I'd blow a referee's whistle at him. Usually shuts them up real quick and they hang up straight away.

Got a call from a bloke named Patrick claiming he was from Microsoft at half past twelve, saying my computer was infected with a virus. I told him it wasn’t, and he asked how I knew. I said "because I’ve got the latest antivirus software" and added that he ought to be ashamed. Then I hung up. I might be close to 80 but I’m not daft! The same number rang me again later that afternoon but when I answered, they just hung up.

Sometimes I mess with these callers by pretending to type something in the search bar and then act like the program they mention is opening. You can hear them getting all hyped up and then telling you to wait while they patch you through to their manager. They ask stuff like 'Did you run the app?' and 'What does your screen show?'. I just say 'GO AWAY YOU BLOODY W****R!!' One time the guy told me 'Sir, it looks like your computer is being offensive to you'. Gave me a good laugh, that did :-)

Got a call from this number yesterday, 3 times actually, with some bloke speaking in an American or Canadian accent. He said he was from Microsoft about my computer. I told him straight up he wasn’t from Microsoft coz my son's there working for them in Germany and they don’t make calls to the UK like that. After the third call, I told him to **** off. I got two calls from this number at about 7:55 am on 11/01/2018 and 7:16 am on 12/01/2018. The first was a man with an Indian or Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft. There’s people overseas, often Asian, who ring up pretending there's an issue with your computer and then offer to sort it for a fee, asking for your card info too. I got the BT8600 phone which has caller ID security, and it stops those calls right away because they’re supposed to say who they are before it rings through. Usually they just hang up then. Plus, the phone keeps a log of all incoming numbers and you can block any you want from the menu. It’s handy to check the call history so you know who’s been trying to bother you.

Got a call from some guy with an Indian accent saying he was from Microsoft, talking about issues with my computer. Knew straight away it was a scam, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, claiming he was Peter and assuring me he was from Microsoft about my PC. I told him I don't even own a computer, and he started yelling that I was the one lying and that I'm the crook, not him. Absolutely a scam, I told him to get lost right away.

Got a call from a guy claiming he could repair my computer, sounded dodgy so I hung up. Looked up the number afterwards and yep, it’s a scam.

Someone called saying they were from BT Openreach, saying our computer got hacked. Tried to get remote access to sort out some anti-hacking thing. Absolutely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from some American lady saying she was from Microsoft about my laptop but she never said much so I just ended the call. This is like the 5th time today, always ringing from a different number. It's already annoying at the best times but when everyone's sick in bed it gets really frustrating. Apart from blocking the numbers myself, I reckon the phone companies should track these people down and slap them with fines.

Somebody called up saying it was about windows, then just hung up right away.
